How do I create a secondary FTP account?

In addition to the primary FTP account which is setup by default along with your Mxhub account and which allows total access to all directories on the account it's also possible to create secondary FTP accounts with limited access.

These FTP subaccounts can be created under FTP Manager > FTP Accounts in your Mxhub control panel.

Each secondary FTP account you create will only have access to a single subdirectory of your public_html folder. The name of the subdirectory must match the name of the FTP subaccount.

Example:

FTP subaccount: files@domain.com
FTP subaccount root folder: http://domain.com/files
aka /home/username/public_html/files/

When creating a secondary FTP login you can use a name corresponding to an existing subdirectory of public_html, and if a folder by the same name as you use when creating the secondary FTP account doesn't already exist one will be created for you automatically.

When logging in to a secondary FTP account unlike with your main account secondary user names must include @domain.com

Example FTP subaccount login:

Host Name/Address: domain.com
User ID: username@domain.com
Password: xxxxxxxx

Note: In the Host Name/Address field your account's IP address can be used instead of your domain name.
