What is the maximum email message size?

Our email system currently supports a maximum message size of 5MB. This limit was established on our shared email servers by necessity to ensure that the flow of email into and out of our servers does not become bogged down by excessively large files. Here at Mxhub we push over a million messages daily via our mail servers and large messages can slow down the flow substantially. This is a network-wide limit which is in force on all accounts equally and no exclusions or exemptions are possible.

Does this mean that I can send email attachments up to 5MB in size?

Not necessarily. For details see the "What is the maximum size of email attachments?" entry also in this topic area.
