FrontPage error messages with newly registered domains

"I registered a domain about an hour ago, and I'm trying to publish using front page. It keeps giving me error messages. Is there a reason for this?"

In order to publish using FrontPage one either has to have either (a) a domain name which has propogated and is resolving to their account or (b) a dedicated IP address. As it commonly takes anywhere from 24-72 hours after registering a new domain name for the domain name to start resolving to the host's servers it wouldn't be unusual to receive an error attempting to publish to a new domain using FrontPage an hour after registering the domain.

Unless your hosting plan includes a dedicated IP address, it's just a matter of waiting until the DNS changes take effect in a day or so. Keep checking your domain from time to time during the initial day or three after you first register it by entering it into a browser. As soon as the domain name brings up a directory listing rather than an error message your domain is ready for you to publish to it using FrontPage.
